Kiyoji Tanaka - Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Kiyoji Tanaka is Associate Professor of Health and Sport Sciences at the University of Tsukuba in Tsukuba Japan. Tanaka is director of the Tsukuba Advanced Research Alliance research program in aging and physical activity. His recent work has focused on the assessment of biological and functional age in older adults populations. Tanaka has published in excess of 170 peer reviewed publications many of which appear in Western Journals. Tanaka has authored the first comprehensive textbook on Physical Activity and Aging to be published in Japan. Tanaka has been invited to address the World Congress of Gerontology about how the notion of regular physical activity among Japanese seniors may differ substantially from western perspectives. Tanaka is a member of the editorial board of Journal of Aging and Physical Activity . He is fluent in English and has extensive experience in giving keynote addresses before western audiences.
